I recently read The Reformed Vampire Support Group, by Catherine Jinks; my brother checked it out from the library and I thought I might as well read it, too. I have always been interested in vampires (BEFORE this ridiculous Twilight fad...), but the vampires in this novel are different than the typical ones in other books --- they're sickly, and most of them are old. While I still prefer the glamorous blood-suckers of other novels, I recommend this book to any teen who wants a new take on vampires. There are lots of really interesting plot twists as well; it has adventure, romance, verisimilitude (ooh vocab word!) --- everything you could want in a book, right?! But, sadly, this book is not totally perfect. Some parts moved a bit too fast, and I had to read them a couple times to actually understand what was going on. The protagonist, a vampire named Nina who has been 15 years old for a reallllly long time, is a captivating narrator, though; overall, this was a good read.
